The color you see is not the actual color of this celestial object.

Instead, it is added by the spacecraft to highlight the subtle differences between different regions of the planet.

@nasa wrote, “Pluto It has a complex and varied surface with jumbled ridges reminiscent of Europa, a network of chiseled valleys, old high cratered terrain lying right next to a new, smooth glacier, and even sand dunes that may be blown off by the wind.”
The New Horizons spacecraft conducted a six-month flyby studying Pluto as well as its months in depth in 2015.
