The federal trend is also having an impact in Freiburg: On Wednesday morning, the health department reported 335 new infections for the city and district – more than ever before in a single day.
The health department reports 161 new cases in the Freiburg urban district and 174 in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district. There are also two other deaths related to Covid-19, one in Freiburg and one in the district. The total number of deceased increased to 390.
The number of newly infected people reported on Wednesday clearly exceeded the previous high of 217 cases. As early as Tuesday, according to the state health office, both the district and the city had passed the 200 mark for the first time with the seven-day incidence. Freiburg has 219.5 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days, the district even has a value of 231.1.
In Baden-Wrttemberg, the number of corona patients in the intensive care units has risen to 356. The alert level (390) is thus getting closer and closer.
The incidence in Baden-Wrttemberg is now 296.9. The incidence in those who have been completely vaccinated is 52.6 and in people with incomplete vaccination protection it is 755.7, according to the State Health Office.
