A new bathroom in Oslo is rarely a commodity. It is actually over 40 years since Oslo last got a new public bath. At that time, it was Tøyenbadet that opened its doors in 1976.
The old Tøyenbadet no longer exists. It has been demolished and a new one is now being built in Tøyenparken. When it is finally finished, probably in the summer of 2024, it will be the city’s largest bathing facility.
But before that time, another brand new bathroom opens: Manglerud bathroom is the name and opens in September. The bathroom is 6300 m² large and has a price tag of 726 million kroner.
Previously, we have only seen sketches of the new bathroom. Will it be as the illustrations promise?
On Tuesday, the opening date was announced. On the same day, Aftenposten got to join the inside.
