for the first time in Moselle, a woman at the head of an operational unit

At 36, the young woman already has a great experience of the profession of firefighter since she started as a volunteer at the Corny barracks when she was just over 18 and managed the Verny rescue center from 2017 to 2019.

“I turned professional in 2018. As I was a nurse, particularly in the emergency room of the Pont-à-Mousson hospital, I was able to take advantage of a branch transfer in the public service to integrate as a professional the corps of firefighters in the rank of captain ”, explains the new manager of this center which has 32 professional engineers and 53 volunteers. To validate her rank, she then followed the integration course at the National School of Fire-Fighting Officers, in Aix-en-Provence.

“Normally, this training lasts 52 weeks, but due to the pandemic, it lasted from May 2019 to February 2021. I finished last week”, testifies the officer who during his training, which takes place in work-study program, was head of the operations forecast office at the Thionville emergency center.

This is the first time in Moselle that a woman has headed an operational unit. She confides: “I have no apprehension. I am happy to be able to put my knowledge into practice and to work with my new colleagues. “
