For the first time, Eibar will offer music courses for people over 65 years old

Registration will be open from September 1 to 20.

They will be able to discover or remember the use of various musical instruments and explore the possibilities of their own voice.

EIBAR | Eibar City Council has announced a new initiative aimed at seniors: special music courses designed for people over 65 years of age. With registration open from 1 to 20 September, it will be an opportunity for participants to rediscover the pleasure of music and strengthen both their physical and emotional well-being.

The objectives of these courses are varied and enriching. One of the main purposes is to allow older students to discover or remember the use of various musical instruments and to explore the possibilities of their own voice. This interaction with music not only awakens fond memories, but also stimulates the mind and spirit, providing a revitalizing experience.

In addition, music becomes a means of feeling active and engaged. Participants will work on group cohesion and personal relationships, fostering an atmosphere of community and mutual support. Through different melodies and rhythmic exercises, abilities will be trained that go beyond simple enjoyment, helping to prevent isolation and significantly improving mood and self-esteem.

These courses are also designed to enhance physical and intellectual functions. Special attention will be paid to areas such as attention, memory, creativity, emotionality, language and expression of feelings. This not only helps to maintain and improve motor functions, but can also alleviate physical and verbal problems that are common in the elderly.

In addition, work will be done to improve mobility, which is essential to maintaining independence and quality of life. But perhaps most importantly, these courses are designed to make participants laugh, enjoy themselves and have a good time, creating moments of joy and personal satisfaction.

Mayor Jon Iraola has invited people over 65 to sign up for these courses, which promise to be a transformative and highly rewarding experience. Registration will be open from September 1 to 20, and can be done on the 4th floor of Portalea

There will be two shifts per week: Tuesdays from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., starting on October 1.
