For the BNB or Karimanski, or no one – warned in the dark Slavi

The date for the election of a governor has been postponed again in an attempt to close the rift in the coalition

It is not clear whether GERB will vote or not, how they will do it in the BSP and whether Vazrazhdane will keep its promise to boycott

Both candidates speak eloquently and abstractly – atypical of bankers

“The election of the BNB chief will not cause an earthquake and will not destroy the coalition.” This was once again sworn in by a member of the government – Deputy Energy Minister Plamen Danailov, to bTV on Monday.

However, the fault is visible even in the dark. Slavi Trifonov, who does not physically participate in the coalition’s leadership meetings, but prefers to announce his positions via Facebook, accused the right hand of Prime Minister Kiril Petkov and cabinet spokeswoman Lena Borislavova of lying on Sunday night. The reason? The battle for the BNB, in which the man of “There is such a people” Lyubomir Karimanski and of “We continue the change” Andrey Gyurov are against each other. And the 3-hour meeting of the coalition council earlier on Sunday did not answer which of the two is running or whether it is running for office.

All day on social networks they were explaining with which finger Toshko Yordanov explains the situation in the coalition in the photo, which was distributed by the Prime Minister after the leadership conversation. And whether this gesture is (un) free. On the other hand, Trifonov sent a clear message – the stability of the coalition depends on me.

Today, in two TV interviews, the Speaker of the National Assembly Nikola Minchev and the Head of the Government Cabinet Lena Borislavova stated that the candidate of the ruling coalition for BNB governor is Andrei Gyurov. And this is a lie – the ruling coalition does not have a single candidate. There are two candidates… The head of the cabinet has gone even further,

step over yours powers and made suggestions and slander

at the address of Lubomir Karimanski. He suggested that Mr. Karimanski has questionable spots in his biography and that if he is elected BNB governor instead of Andrei Gyurov, there will be a “second CCB”. Since my job right now is to maintain the stability of the coalition, I will not answer, Slavi warned meaningfully.

The plot with his Viennese diploma continues around Gurov, but more importantly, it is

of the sympathetic Chairman of MPs from “We are continuing the change ” lack real banking experience

and authority, which is more than obligatory for the BNB.

“24 Hours” tests every week the attitudes in the coalition and among the opposition before the direct clash in the plenary hall. Which was postponed once again, after the originally set date – April 7. Probably as a last chance to achieve peace in the shaky coalition.

Apart from “We continue the change”, Democratic Bulgaria is also expected to vote for Gyurov. Financiers suggest that against the support, it is logical for the new boss to nominate their chosen deputy governor.

Despite the previously declared and long-term neutrality, GERB and MRF seem to have made their choice in favor of Karimanski. Thus, deputies rely on the activity of Boyko Borissov’s party in search of formal administrative omissions in Andrei Gyurov’s documents, as well as approving remarks every time his rival Karimanski answered their questions during the hearing in the budget committee.

In this configuration, the votes of the BSP may be decisive. Whether the Socialists also expect a deputy governor can be guessed.

However, GERB is an impulsive party and may not vote for anyone. It is not clear whether this promise will be kept by the loudest in the parliament – “Vazrazhdane”.

In this situation of betting, bargaining and promises

very little attention was turned on the presentation To both

candidates before the relevant committee. And it itself was not full of content and did not add anything to their intentions for the central bank.

The questions were formal, no one remembered or deliberately failed to ask them about the challenges facing the BNB imposed by the war, sanctions and the reorganization of the world economy, as well as unbridled inflation. Both were verbose – atypical of a central banker, and abstract, indicating a lack of preparedness for concrete answers.

Thus, more than a year and a half after the term of the manager Dimitar Radev expired, he is fulfilling his duties. Deputies predict either a new term or a few more months until the coalition finds a suitable and unifying candidate.
