More than 470 kilos of rubbish end up in the bin in Germany every year – far more than in many other European countries. What to do about the garbage mountains? The political magazine “Zur Sache Baden-Württemberg!” reports on Thursday, April 21 from 8:15 p.m. on SWR Fernsehen Baden-Württemberg and afterwards in the ARD media library.

Packaging, food leftovers, electronic scrap – despite all appeals, environmental problems and recycling systems, the mountains of rubbish continue to grow. And this at a time when saving energy and resources has top priority. The city of Tübingen wanted to take countermeasures with a packaging tax, but was thwarted in court.
