For the second summer in a row, the “MadBay” waterboarding park in the village of Žemgrindiai, on Žiobriu street, next to the Plikiai quarry, delights lovers of water sports. The owners kindly invite people to pamper themselves after a busy day and offer to try the rapidly popular waterboards.
Intensive start of work
The owner of MadBay, Eglė Stuopelytė, said that after the exploitation of the quarry, the territory of the current waterboard park was so beautiful that she and her brother Vilis came up with the idea of starting a new business. Since the bottom of the quarry is clay, the water looks like emerald, so the two wanted to share this spectacle with people and let everyone indulge in water fun. “We liked waterboarding ourselves, and we noticed that there is not much quality offer in the Klaipėda area,” said the interviewer. When asked what the meaning of the name of this park is, E. Stuopelytė mentioned that she is currently receiving a lot of praise for its uniqueness and added that she chose it herself, and translated from English it means “crazy bay”. The owner taught that during the development period there were many difficulties that required a lot of time, patience, psychological and physical health. There were doubts as to whether it would be possible to find suitable suppliers, a team that would be able to ensure good working conditions and remuneration. However, according to the interlocutor, everything worked out perfectly, and the competition was not scary.
Satisfied customers
E. Stuopelytė said that “MadBay” differs from other waterboard parks because of one of the longest 2.0 systems in all of Lithuania, good figures and, of course, the beauty of the water. “We offer delicious food, drinks, a wonderful beach, recreation areas with fire pits, paddle boards, and a volleyball court. So people who come here can happily spend the whole day,” the interviewer informed. According to her, the number of visitors depends on the weather conditions: if it’s a warm day, the waterboarding system is fully occupied. The interlocutor said that their goal is to attract people of various ages, to create a place for summer entertainment that can be visited by both groups of friends and families. “We are very happy, because the visitors are constantly making us happy, telling their impressions, encouraging them to move forward and wishing them success,” E. Stuopelytė emphasized.
Free entertainment for employees
Kajus Lang, an employee of the water park and bar manager, said that after accumulating quite a long experience working in the service sector, he decided to change his environment and get a job at the MadBay bar of friends he had known for a long time. “I really don’t regret my decision, even though I had a lot of work at the beginning: stringing together the bar’s assortment, working together to provide cozy and high-quality service to the guests. But I’m having a great time here, I feel like I’m in a big family,” the interviewer was happy. He is responsible for almost everything that happens at Madbay Park and also answers any questions the owners may have. The guy said that 5 more team members work together: 2 in the kitchen and 3 young waterboarding professionals, coaches. And if help is needed, the owners themselves help to properly serve customers. “Probably the most fun part of the working day is when we try out new waterboards, paddleboards and jet skis. We have so much to do during the day, so it’s unlikely that you’ll ever wake up,” said the bar manager, adding that while working at this place, he gets all the latest equipment he needs and can train as much as his heart desires.
The environment is tolerant of animals
K. Lang said that there are always difficulties in a job where the most important thing is to serve guests. For example, mutual misunderstandings arising from a large flow of orders, which, fortunately, are quickly resolved: “We try not to leave each other in trouble, we get caught up in fulfilling our duties.” the opening event, which included a lot of entertainment for customers, one of which was performances by waterboarding professionals. “For now, we are just putting together the schedule of events, but I can assure you that there will be a lot of them and they will be family friendly,” informed the guy. According to Kajaus, the whole team loves animals very much and allows them to run freely in the park, if their owners ensure the safety of other people. “We can also be proud of the cozy atmosphere, the terrace for relaxation and the bar, which is designed for maximum relaxation,” the bar manager pointed out.
