The candidate claimed to work in the SIA “Dolo” carpentry company in a position that does not exist at all.
“The truth is that he worked from May 2013 to August 2014. It was a great shock to me that a person who worked as an auxiliary worker indicates – adviser”, explained to the program the representative of “Dolo” Kristina Lapsa, who has pointed out that the position mentioned by Grevcova does not exist in the logging and economic activity company it represents.
The company asked both Grevcov and the party to remove this information, but that didn’t happen.
CVK “TV3 News” explained that they only check if the deputy candidate has no criminal record or other circumstances that would prevent him from running for election. Nobody checks how true the information is, for example, about the specified job.
“CVK only checks information on candidates that the law requires us to check. We do not have the right to request information on all candidates from possible workplaces that they have indicated in an informative manner when submitting lists,” said the head of the CVK Kristīne Bērziņa.
The commission also stressed that in the two weeks allotted for the presentation of the candidate list it would not be possible to check several thousand people, so it remains to rely only on the integrity of the candidates.
“That information is transmitted to the voters for evaluation, and this candidate risks – this case confirms – that it will not remain hidden”, explains Bērziņa.
It was not possible to contact Grevcov himself for TV3 News, while Alexei Roslikov, the head of “Stability” refused to comment in front of the camera, claiming that he knew nothing.
Grevcova was elected to the 14th Saeima as one of the members of the “Stability” party, however, she gained wider recognition through her activity on the social site “TikTok”.
So far it has actively opposed vaccination and criticized the government’s decisions to refuse cooperation with Russia. For supporting the occupation of the Donbass, Grevtsova is also included in the blacklist of the Ukrainian organization “Mirotvorec”.
