Sinisa Mihajlovic, live on gazzetta.it for the presentation of her autobiography “The match of life”, invited several guests for the event. Among these were also Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Francesco Totti and Roberto Mancini, who together with the current Bologna coach gave life to a really interesting chat. Here are the statements.
Totti on Ibrahimovic: “Zlatan can play up to the age of 50 and with only one foot (laughs). I’m happy to see him play at such a high level. “
Mihajlovic talks about Ibra and his effect on Serie A defenders: “There is no comparison, they look like me with my 5-year-old son, they are afraid of being watched. Before Milan-Bologna I asked my defenders not to be afraid, but he was unstoppable and scored two goals.”
Zlatan on Sinisa’s disease and the possibility of Bologna: “When I found out about this I didn’t know when it was the right time to call him. I wanted to give him all my strength to be positive. I couldn’t get the words right and I was sick. I had a brother with the same problem. It was Sinisa who gave me the strength, instead of the other way around. After a few weeks then I was more prepared to give him the right strength. I would have done everything for him in that moment. Bologna did everything to get me there, but my point was that I didn’t know whether to stop or go on. I told him that if I came I would go to Bologna for free, because I would go there for Sinisa. But then I chose Milan, because I wanted to continue playing in Europe “.
In the end, however, Ibra chose Milan. But Mihjlovic didn’t take it badly: “It didn’t go through because it would have been too big for us. He told me that he would call me before he decided, in fact then as normal he called me to tell me he was going to Milan. Too bad that Milan had been there, maybe he would have come. With him on the field you are already 1-0 .., “.
Roberto Mancini, current Italy coach, on Ibrahimovic: “I believe that Zlatan, like Totti, was one of the most players in the world ever. Obviously his body also helps Zlatan, but also because he was a professional in everything. I was lucky enough to have it and that’s why I won (laughs, ed) “.
In the studio they ask who would have taken the penalties between Zlatan and Sinisa. Mihajlovic: “Seeing how Ibra took the last two penalties … (laughs, ed)”. Ibra is joking: “I will no longer take penalties (laughs, ed)”.
And finally Ibra talked about the relationship with Sinisa: “He’s a great man because I had the opportunity to play against him, and at first it wasn’t love at first sight (laughs), but then at Inter it was love from day one. He’s a great person and I was sorry we didn’t play together. I’ve always said that in war I would have wanted him by my side. I knew Sinisa better than all the others, we went to Serbia together on the day of his last football match ”.
