In Vilnius, Ceikinių st. 2, Gilma Teodora Gylytė, the new partner of the capital’s mayor Remigijus Šimašius, is designing office and hotel buildings. It is true that together with her, design work is also performed by the manager of UAB DO Architects, architect Sabina Daugėlienė. Both of them are the owners of this architectural firm.
However, Delfi found out that this developer was exempted and could choose a design company with specific architects without a design competition. However, such a competition was mandatory under the Law on Architecture. It would also be obligatory according to the decision of the Vilnius City Municipal Council of April of this year “On the objects to be designed in the territory of Vilnius City Municipality, for the architectural ideas of which it is obligatory to announce project tenders”.
