The extreme Ford Sierra CLX 4×4 nicknamed “Hectoliter” is for sale. The cult classic from the 1990s is equipped with a significantly more powerful 3.7-liter six-cylinder engine that replaces the original four-cylinder. This is a real sleeper!
After the revolution, the Ford Sierra was one of the most popular Western cars in the new Czech Republic. Today, the cult “match” is mainly a modern classic for enthusiasts, which we rarely meet on our roads. It is all the more interesting when a well-preserved piece with a truly unconventional technique appears in the advertisements. The seller describes it with the words: “It’s not a car for everyone, it’s like getting a lover from Sicily.”
On the Czech advertising server Veterans paradise a new Ford Sierra CLX 4×4 appeared from the Czech owners’ club with the mythical nickname “Hektolitr”. However, the Bordeaux Rot burgundy sedan is far from factory-spec with a naturally aspirated 2.0 DOHC four-cylinder, having previously been upgraded with Ford’s 2.9-liter “Cologne” fork-six. But this is where the interestingness of this car just begins.
The seller states that it was later determined that the 95.5-millimeter bore, 86-millimeter stroke six-cylinder had been modified to displace 3.7 liters by an unknown previous owner. With the matching type code, the bigger and more powerful engine is even listed on the vehicle’s technical data sheet and is further enhanced with a sharp PiperCams cam. It will reportedly develop a maximum output of 150 kW (204 hp).
The extreme Sierra with a large-volume six-cylinder, manual and all-wheel drive will be a real “sleeper” that will amaze many a challenger with its dynamics. For safer driving at high speeds, it is also equipped with more powerful brakes from the Scorpio Cosworth with ventilated discs on both axles. The technical equipment of the car also includes a self-locking differential.
The Sierra is in very good condition and has only covered approximately 30,000 miles since it was manufactured in 1992. The original interior looks like new and is equipped with authentic sports seats and a rare RS steering wheel. The seller adds that there is a lot of work to be done on the car, but he only wants to sell it to a serious buyer. He demands 246,000 crowns for the unique reconstruction, but he is not opposed to a serious agreement.
