FC Waldstein has finally arrived in the district league. The 1-0 victory in the derby against SpVgg Oberkotzau was equivalent to the first points in the top division of Upper Franconia for the merger club, which was only founded a few years ago. “We absolutely wanted to avoid the false start after the defeat in Katschenreuth. The upcoming opponents from Mistelgau, who are also still pointless, are only one place and one goal better – like Waldstein, also a promoted team. “We have to turn things around as quickly as possible so that we don’t get stuck in the bottom of the table early on. Especially when it comes to the game going forward, we want to be stronger and more determined. We haven’t been able to score a goal so far, but the lack of scoring chances is alarming,” says coach Michael Voigt on the current situation. In the home game, the buck should now be knocked over. Wrodarczyk, Yobas and Samat are out. The use of Schraps is questionable.
