The judicial proceeding on the accounts of the Juventus for the moment remains in Turinor. The Attorney General of the Cassation declared the defense’s request to transfer the documents to Milan was inadmissible for procedural reasons. The question will therefore have to be resolved by the Turin judges. The defense argued that the competent seat of the trial was Milan as the rigging offence contested by the Juventus management is linked to the dissemination of the press releases to the Stock Exchange.

Two days after the lawyers’ request to the Attorney General at the Court of Cassation, the Turin prosecutor’s office asked for the suspects to be indicted. This, as the Attorney General observes, means “that the prosecution has led to the closure of the preliminary investigation phase”. The consequence is that “the request for transmission of the documents to a different public prosecutor, raised by the defense, remains precluded by the supervening of the jurisdiction of the judge proceeding before which the relative objection can be raised”.
