PYONGYANG, KOMPAS.TV – The fate of North Korean Defense Minister Ri Yong-gol is unknown after it was found that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un did not applaud.
It happened when Kim Jong-un attended a workshop for North Korean military commanders, last June.
Korean Workers’ Party Newspaper, Rodong Sinmun published 48 photos of the workshop, Friday (30/7/2021).
In the newspaper, when military officials gave standing ovation, Ri is seen in his chair.

At that time, he was seen just looking at the floor.
No doubt, it made rumors of Ri being executed spread.
A source who is a defector from the north told Chosun Ilbo, Wednesday (4/8/2021) that the presumption against Ri related to the photo was unfair.
Quoted from UPI, it’s likely the photo caught a glimpse before Ri could stand up.
However, he said there was a possibility that it could also be a negative action from Ri.
