For many Ukrainians, the train is the best way to escape. The state railway company says they have transported over two million Ukrainians away from war zones.

Iryna Salikhova was faced with an impossible choice: to risk a life-threatening journey from her hometown of Kherson, without knowing where she was going. Or being trapped in their own home and living with the fear of the bombs.

– This is my home, says the 35-year-old to Aftenposten. Salikhova chose to stay in Kherson. It is a choice she regrets now.
