A few days ago, the NOI announced that a pension of BGN 1,300 will be possible, but only if the pension reform plans of Ivaylo Kalfin come true. “And currently there are 858 people whose pension is BGN 1,700. These are air traffic controllers, pilots and other people who had very high salaries,” Zaikova said.
The expert explained the formula by which the pension of each citizen is determined: “Ivaylo Kalfin proposed to increase the coefficient for insurance service, if the growth of the economy and the budget allow it. The personal pension is formed by multiplying the average insurance income by the length of service, divided by 100 and multiplied by the individual coefficient (which is formed for people who worked before 1997)”.
“Currently, 1/3 of our income goes to a pension contribution. Injustice cannot be generated in the pension system,” said the former minister of labor and social policy and current chairman of the Institute for Family Policy Hristina Hristova.
“We cannot ask for large pensions from a system in which nothing comes in,” added Zaikova.
