An unpleasant incident occurred as early as the 15th minute of the match, when FTC captain Gergő Nagy unhappily collided with the mantinel of Alpár Salló. The helmet flew off and his limp body fell on the ice. At that moment, all participants stopped playing and immediately asked for medical help.
After being transported to the hospital, Alpár Salló was found to be in a serious life-threatening situation. Csíkszereda President László Hodos said that the player was bleeding into his brain and that his overall recovery was uncertain. The 27-year-old hockey player has undergone neurosurgery and is facing a long convalescence.
The Erste League Disciplinary Committee banned Gergő Nagy from starting in the next three matches. The next one can start the fifth duel of the final, which will take place on April 9 at 17:00.
