For Health, the cases in the Traslasierra Valley are taking a “regrowth” dynamic

The Covid-19 outbreak that has been in Villa Dolores and the southern Traslasierra Valley for three weeks is still very active. But not only does it add new infections every day, but there is now a greater outbreak, which accelerates the curve of cases.

The data shows a violation of the quarantine by the inhabitants of the area, since the new infections that are now detected occurred when the city was again in phase 1 of isolation, after the succession of the first infected.

To this conclusion, anticipated by local doctors, came the Minister of Health of the Province, Diego Cardozo, who visited Villa Dolores yesterday to put into operation the new authorities of the Regional COE.

Local health sources expected the increase in cases these days, especially since it had been observed that for Father’s Day, last June 21, despite the imposed ban, many family reunions took place.

“The behavior of the pathology is generating a new rise in the number of cases, it is taking a re-emergence dynamic in Traslasierra,” said Cardozo yesterday, and recalled that the incubation times of the disease range from three to 15 days.

Villa Dolores and several neighboring towns returned to phase 1 quarantine 22 days ago (on June 17), when the first case became known.

Cardozo appointed Diego Almada as the new head of the Traslasierra Regional COE, and stated that a multidisciplinary team will cover all aspects of the fight against contagion, and that one of the essential objectives is to comply with the quarantine, which will continue in phase 1 to less for a week. The minister affirmed that the extension of the restriction will depend on the contagion curve in the coming days.

Cardozo affirmed that the majority of contagions in the department are from direct contacts. The outbreak in the west of Córdoba, with more than 130 cases, has become the largest in the province and one of the most striking in the country, taking into account the low population density in the area.
