The 2Stv fired its news director this Thursday, July 23. The decision was made by CEO El Hadji Ndiaye, CEO of Origines SA following a brief meeting with Ben Mactar Diop. A face to face that the latter is not ready to forget.
Heavy faults …
During an interview with Ben Makhtar Diop this Thursday, Mr. El Hadji Ndiaye reminded him of all his faults which led to his dismissal from the first private television channel in Senegal. These include, among others, “blackmail made to its guests, forced to pay money to participate in its programs, advertising money not paid to the commercial management of 2Stv etc…”.
Warning !
A final warning had been served to Ben Makhtar Diop during a meeting, in the presence of all the 2Stv officials. Meeting during which he asked for forgiveness and had promised not to be called to order.
The management of 2Stv, which was able to go back to the authors of the articles, had proof that Ben Makhtar ordered publications on several local websites to denigrate 2stv, television where he nevertheless exercised the functions of information director .
Social benefits granted
Better, a few weeks ago, Ben Mactar requested and obtained from the 2Stv a loan of 1,500,000 F Cfa in order to “solve some problems”, he had mentioned in his letter dated March 26, 2020.
Recidivism and denial
This did not prevent him from continuing his bad works, notes the management. A few days ago, the press announced the departure of Ben Makhtar from 2stv, but when television officials wanted to know more, he denied the information.
Fed up with the management of 2 Stv
He even said he had already stalled his guest, this Saturday, July 25, a deputy for the program “C ‘à dire” that he hosted with the former Miss Senegal, Fabienne Felhio.
No longer able to with this yoyo game from someone to whom everything has been accepted at 2stv: position of responsibility, a good salary, allowances, vehicle … the management decided quite simply to put an end to the contract that bound him to Ben Makhatar Diop.
The meeting between the latter and Mr. Elhadji Ndiaye lasted a few minutes, and it was just to notify him of his dismissal and ask him to return the vehicle that the 2stv had given him.
