Returning Dani Alves turned down two much better paid offers in the run-up to his transfer to FC Barcelona. According to information from GOAL and SPOX the two offers came from Mexican first division clubs.
One of the two offers would have had a contract term of two years and would have brought the 38-year-old considerably more salary. At Barca, the club icon only receives the minimum salary of 155,000 euros per year prescribed by the Spanish association. In addition, the contract will initially only run until the end of the season.
FC Barcelona: Dani Alves and Xavi reunited
The financial conditions played only a subordinate role for the Brazilian in the transfer negotiations anyway. Rather, the desire to play for his heart club again prevailed. At Barca, the right-back is now being trained by long-time teammate Xavi.
