Not like that! Brigitte Foppa has decided to file a complaint against Bernd R., who insulted her on the Facebook page of the Freedom Youth Chairman Oscar Fellin deep below the belt.
In a comment on immigration, Bernd R. wrote verbatim: “The Foppa can take five, best of all well-equipped men, that they amol really hergnuman weard.”
The member of the state parliament of the Greens will now file a complaint against Bernd R. Brigitte Foppa writes on Facebook:
“I will file a complaint against Mr Bernd R. There are several reasons for this:
1) Civil courage: To remain silent means to agree, to be quiet means to allow. And that doesn’t work at all. We cannot wait for sexism, devaluation of women and violence, in any form, to stop on their own.
2) Solidarity: With other women who are given the same words in poodle conversations, in drinking rounds, in small malicious comments.
3) Prevention: Because it should no longer happen to our daughters and the politicians who come after us that they are reduced to their gender.
The polyphonic statement against this incident shows that something has changed. Not so long ago women were all alone with these comments.
And I can tell you, there is a world of difference whether such words only echo in your own ears or whether there is a big public NO. If there is, then the angry echo that such a comment triggers in you, as the person concerned, quickly fades.
That is exactly what we need. Thank you all, really all, for that.
