“Footwear Industry in Portugal: Sales Abroad Increase Despite Losing Companies and Jobs”

Within a decade, the footwear industry in Portugal lost a total of 136 companies and 2,332 jobs, according to data provided by the business association of the sector (APICCAPS). Still, he managed add up in these ten successive years records in sales abroad – including a new high of 2,009 million euros last year –, with the average price of a pair of shoes on export progressing to 26.4 euros.
