World footballers have spoken out in condemning the action Israel who attacks Palestine. But in Arsenal, there is a split sound.
center midfielder, Mohamed Elneny stated his stance in defense of Palestine. Elneny even changed his profile picture on Twitter to the Palestinian flag.
“My heart, my soul, and my support for Palestine,” he wrote on his personal social media.
Elneny has been advocating for Palestine since 2021. The player from Egypt is also known as a devout Muslim.
On the other hand, Arsenal’s wing-backs, namely Oleksandr Zinchenko defend Israel. Zinchenko posted on InstaStory with the words ‘I Stand with Israel’ last week.
The 26 year old player then deleted the post. Furthermore, Zinchenko also locked his account until now!

In 2019, Mesut Oezil was dropped from the Arsenal squad because of his actions in supporting Uighur Muslims who are oppressed in China. Especially for Oleksandr Zinchenko, he is known to have received protests from netizens because Israel’s actions were not much different from Russia’s war against Ukraine, the player’s country.
