Footballers from England and Spain will meet in the final of the European Under-21 Championship. In Wednesday’s semi-final match in Batumi, Georgia, the English defeated their peers from Israel 3:0, the Spanish beat Ukraine 5:1 in Bucharest.
Morgan Gibbs-White put the English in the lead at the end of the first half with a header. He thus corrected his hesitation from the 17th minute, when he did not convert the penalty kick. After the break, Cole Palmer increased the lead, and Cameron Archer scored the goal in the 90th minute.
Although the Spaniards were losing in the semi-finals from the 13th minute after Artőm Bondarenko’s goal 0:1, they turned the score around in the first half and sealed their progress with three more hits in the second act. The final is scheduled for Saturday at 18:00 CET in Batumi.
