Valencia player Rafa Mir, who has been under arrest for alleged sexual assault since late Monday afternoon, will appear before a court tomorrow, according to sources familiar with the investigation who confirmed this to EFE.
The player was arrested by the Civil Guard following a complaint filed by a 25-year-old woman, who reported on Monday that she went with a 21-year-old friend to the footballer’s house and there they were sexually assaulted by Rafa Mir and another man, and that she subsequently went to a hospital after the assault suffered.
Hours later, the Civil Guard arrested a second person possibly involved in the alleged sexual assault.
Valencia puts itself at the disposal of justice
For its part, Valencia CF has stated that it will cooperate “in everything that justice may require” following Mir’s arrest. The Valencian club has stated in a statement that it is aware of the footballer’s arrest and added that, “in the absence of details about it”, for the moment it can only state that it will cooperate “in everything that justice may require”.
