Footballer Hugo Mallo convicted of sexually abusing the woman who was Espanyol’s mascot

The judge of Barcelona’s Criminal Court 19, Salvador Roig Tejedor, has found footballer Hugo Mallo guilty of sexual abuse for touching a woman who worked as a mascot for RCD Espanyol during the greeting before the match between this club and Celta de Vigo in April 2019 at the RCDE Stadium in Cornellà de Llobregat (Barcelona).

In the ruling, the judge sentenced Mallo to a fine of 20 months with a daily fee of 10 euros and to pay the legal costs.

In addition, the man who was captain of Celta at the time of the events will have to compensate the victim with 1,000 euros, plus interest, for the moral damages caused.
