The second most watched match on CT was the Poland – Argentina broadcast with 596,000 viewers, and the third was the Portugal – Uruguay match with 465,000 viewers. 442,000 spectators watched the Brazil-Serbia match on Nova Action.
“The World Cup football match in Qatar, broadcast by Nova Group broadcasters, attracted the interest of 6.28 percent of viewers aged between 15 and 54. 2.328 million viewers over four years of age watched continuously for at least three minutes,” said Nova spokeswoman Tereza Žižková. Football helps Nova Action achieve its best-ever results. Last week, the broadcaster’s share of prime-time broadcasts more than quadrupled, reaching 4.3%.
Due to the savings this year, Czech television resold the rights to part of the World Cup matches to Nova. Qatar public television broadcasts 14 matches along with Nova and additionally 32 more matches, Nova has 18 matches exclusively.
