Football: The incredible miss of a Chelsea player against Servette
Marc Guiu failed to put the ball into the empty SFC net on Thursday night in the first leg of the Conference League play-offs, but the Blues still won (2-0).

Marc Guiu will long remember his first start in his new colours. Having arrived in London during the off-season, the Spanish striker started the Conference League play-off first leg between Chelsea and Servette (2-0) on Thursday evening. Without the expected success, far from it.
In the 51st minute of the match between the Blues and the Grenat, the former FC Barcelona player saw his pressure on Jérémy Frick prove conclusive. His sprint allowed him to counter the clearance of the Geneva captain, who was then positioned outside his area, and to recover the ball seven meters from the empty SFC goal.
Against all expectations, the 18-year-old centre forward completely crushes his attempt, which gives the Servette goalkeeper an extra fraction of a second to throw himself, try and make a miraculous save. Two more shots follow, pushed back by Jérémy Frick and then Yoan Severin. When things don’t work out…
Selected several times with the Spanish under-17 and then 19 teams, Marc Guiu certainly did not score many points on this action with his coach Enzo Maresca.
This huge miss, which caused a real buzz on social networks, did not however prevent Chelsea from winning (2-0) despite the good resistance of a valiant Servette. Christopher Nkunku (50th), on penalty, and Noni Madueke (76th) offered a small cushion to the English before the return match scheduled for next Thursday at La Praille, where the big crowd is expected.
