KOMPAS.com – PSSI Executive Committee (Exco) member, Arya Sinulingga, opened his voice about the opinion that football is a privileged sport in the 2023 SEA Games parade.
The procession titled the 2023 SEA Games Champion Carnival took place on Friday (19/5/2023).
There is a stark difference between the Indonesian U22 national team, which won the 2023 SEA Games gold medal, and other medal-winning sports.
One of them is the Indonesian U22 national team using a double decker bus owned by Transjakarta, while other sports are facilitated by a carnival bus which is smaller in size.
Swimming athlete I Gede Siman Sudartawa expressed his disappointment. He felt he had been treated unfairly because he used a carnival car to greet people.
Apart from that, Siman also felt unappreciated considering the different treatment he and other athletes experienced with the Indonesian U22 national team players.

“However, the fact is that we have been here and it has been quite a long time. Finally the opening, then the MC said we were waiting for one of the sports, “said Siman.
“We felt unappreciated, right? We arrived early on time, we were told to wait, we were both struggling. Medals also get the same why like that. Then when we left, how come there was such a big gap,” he said.
This situation makes the sport of football considered special compared to other sports which also contributed a gold medal to Indonesia at the 2023 SEA Games.
Ariya Sinulingga then gave a response. He said that the 2023 SEA Games achievement winners’ victory parade started with the PSSI initiative which eventually collaborated with Kemenpora.

“It’s collaboration with Kemenpora. So, all sports participate. It is true that PSSI is pushing forward (holding the parade),” said Arya in a release received by Kompas.com.
“However, we invite Kemenpora Mas Dito (Menpora, Dito Ariotedjo),” he added explaining.
According to Arya Sinulingga, General Chair of PSSI, Erick Thohir, it was indeed the initiative to invite Dito Ariotedjo to celebrate together with Indonesia’s achievements at the 2023 SEA Games.
“So PSSI Ketum Erick Thohir invited Mas Dito to jointly go forward to celebrate the SEA Games victory as well,” he said.
“Not only football but all sports that take part in the SEA Games. Because the SEA Games have contributed to Indonesia, right? We know we have reached 87 gold, so all sports have contributed,” he continued.

Arya Sinulingga revealed that his party had indeed left all choices to other sports regarding the desire to celebrate together the achievements at the 2023 SEA Games.
“We leave that to each sport because the important thing is we want to invite all to collaborate. We are all family,” he said.
“Don’t just celebrate us, but we want them to be together too, that’s why we invite them together,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, Dito Ariotedjo has apologized to those who felt uncomfortable when the procession for the Indonesian U22 national team and the 2023 SEA Games contingent was about to take place.
According to Dito Ariotedjo, the event actually started well at the start. He appreciated the preparations in the courtyard of the Kemenpora building which he thought were very exciting because there were several artists such as JKT 48, Marshall and Dustin.
“Indeed, because we were waiting for the ball athlete, we finally decided to start the event right away,” Dito said as quoted by BolaSport.
“It turns out that there was disappointment from the swimming athlete Siman (Sudartawa). However, we also don’t intend to do that,” he said.
