Football: Nîmes Olympique wins its first friendly match against Hyères (2-1)

This Saturday behind closed doors at the Bastide training center, the Crocos won 2-1 against the ambitious Hyères of Mourad Boudjellal, thanks to goals from midfielders Fomba and Valerio. The Var reduced the score from the penalty spot.

Bratveit – Burner, Guessoum, Zaidan, Saint-Luce – Fomba, Valerio – Eliasson, Benrahou, Delpech – Ripart, center forward and captain: it was the first starting lineup for Nîmes Olympique for the 2021-2022 season. Dias, Philibert, the revenant Martinez, Briançon, Meling and Doucouré entered during the match.

Pay sparingly, Aribi did not wish to play

Among the 20 players who are currently training, goalkeeper Nazih (who was vaccinated the morning of the match while the collective meeting was the same evening …), Paquiez (pain in the Achilles tendon, spared ) and Aribi, who wants to leave but did not want to play when Pascal Plancque had called him, were missing.

Incisive and decisive Eliasson

The meeting took place in three half-times of 30 minutes. Fomba, headed for a corner from Eliasson (23rd), then Valerio, on an off-center free kick from an incisive and decisive Swede and a failed exit from the Var goalkeeper (26th), made the difference in a few minutes. Hyères (N2) reduced the score from the penalty spot following a foul by Sainte-Luce (Sissoko, 37th).

Next test: next Saturday July 10 against Troyes, promoted to L1, in Chasse-sur-Rhône (Isère); before an internship in Mende from 11 to 15.
