SG Dynamo Dresden, January 24, 2022
From Dresden via Hanover to Melbourne: Brandon Borrello received an invitation to play for Australia’s national team and thus started his journey down under on Sunday evening. Dynamo’s attacking player is part of the squad playing for a ticket to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Australia meets Vietnam on January 27, 2022 and hosts Oman on February 1, 2022. So far, the 26-year-old has appeared four times for the ‘Socceroos’.
Brandon Borrello says: “I’m delighted to be selected for the Australian national team. It’s a great appreciation for my performance over the past few weeks, which motivates me a lot. Of course we want to take the next steps towards a World Cup ticket. In addition, thanks to the nomination, I can return to Australia after a long time. I will come back to Dresden with many impressions from my homeland.”
Borrello is the second SG Dynamo Dresden player after Georgian Guram Giorbelidze to be called up for his respective senior national team in the 2021/22 season.
