Football Manager 25: Release is significantly postponed!

Football fans have to be brave, because the release of Football Manager 25 has been pushed back significantly. A publication in the current year 2024 will no longer happen!

Developer Sports Interactive has pushed back Football Manager 25 once again. This also means: The new management simulation in the successful series will no longer be published in the current year 2024, because unfortunately it will be a postponement of several months. Instead of November 26th this year, Football Manager 25 is now scheduled to be released in March 2025 – more than three months later.

The decision to postpone again was made by the makers after consultation with SEGA and the other partners. A first postponement to November was previously announced in September of this year. In this context, it also became known that features that were actually planned for the game were canceled, but these decisions were ultimately not enough to achieve the release in November.

The official statement says: “This additional time was not enough to ensure the quality of the game and meet your expectations and our high standards.”

They continue: “The time frames were already very tight and, as many of your numerous comments emphasized, we simply wanted to do too much in too short a time and thereby jeopardized our usual standards. That put a lot of pressure on everyone in the studio and we all just want to deliver the best game possible.”

Football Manager 25 is particularly complex this time because you are switching from the internal Sports Interactive Operating System (SIOS) to the Unity Engine. This brings with it “the biggest technical and visual leap in the series” – but also significantly more challenges than usual. They still don’t want to compromise on quality, and that’s why the November date has finally fallen.

Football Manager 25 does not currently have a specific new release date in March 2025; Of course we will keep you up to date!
