The switch to the Unity engine for Football Manager 2025 and FM25 Console and FM25 Touch. FM25 Mobile is initially empty-handed. The FM25 will also introduce women’s soccer. This was first announced in July 2021. But legal matters in particular have prevented this step so far, the company boss continues. “Women’s football deserves to be best implemented in our game,” writes Jacobson.
Some animation changes will be made available to players in the Football Manager 2024 experience. Jacobson speaks mainly of ball physics and player movements. The FM24 is the 20th Football Manager part and will be “the last of its kind”. Another new feature of the version is that scores can be transferred for the first time. So if you have spent a lot of time in FM23, you don’t have to start a new game in FM24, but can continue your career with the new features and improvements.
Jacobson also gives insights into the sales figures of the Football Manager 2023. With 5 million units, it is by far the best-selling series part. FM23 Touch for the Apple Arcade and FM23 Console for the Playstation 5 are also included. Up to now, almost 2 million players per year have been the norm.
Regardless of the success, Jacobson was not satisfied with the FM23. “FM23’s feature set wasn’t what we wanted to deliver,” said the studio boss. Features have been tried, but had to be dropped in order to deliver a working game. The FM23 received “features that didn’t hit the mark”.
