Erik Botheim made it 1-0 on a header with a quarter played. After that, things got rolling for the league leaders and already at the break they had a comfortable lead of 3-0.
The fourth goal in the meeting came from Sebastian Nanasi, when he went on a shot from outside. The 21-year-old had a real dream hit and the ball went in via the crossbar.
As several times before during the start of the season, Botheim and Nanasi were joined on the scoresheet by Isaac Kiese Thelin. With his second goal of the match, he made the final score 5-0, and it was through a delicious backheel that he placed the ball in the goal.
– Strong. We play a really good match against those who were second. We are happy today, says Kiese Thelin.
“AC” back
But despite the great victory in the rival meeting, it was not one of the goals that gave the biggest cheers of the day. Instead, they were a long-awaited return that brought the entire stadium to its feet.
Team captain Anders Christiansen has not played football since May 21 last year, due to heart problems. But in the meeting with AIK, he was back on the pitch, when he was replaced to a standing ovation.
At the same time as the great joy in the MFF camp, it was less happy in the black and yellow.
– Nothing goes our way today. From minute one, there is only one team on the field. We give away very simple goals. We have no energy and no “fighting spirit” and then it will be 5-0, says AIK’s Sotirios Papagiannopoulos to SVT Sport.
