LEAGUE 1 – More than seven months after its last victory at La Beaujoire, Nantes has finally put an end to this terrible series by dominating Bordeaux on all fronts, 3-0. Faced with a defensively fragile and uninspired Gironde team, Nantes have mastered their subject in the wake of an excellent Randal Kolo Muani.
More than ever this season, the Atlantic derby enters Nantes and Bordeaux was of paramount importance. If the two teams remain on victories, their situation is still complicated with three days remaining. Barragiste with only two points ahead of the relegation zone, Nantes had to win to give air compared to Nîmes, and why not look higher. As for Bordeaux, in the event of defeat, the red zone would approach dangerously.
Coulibaly rewards the good start in Nantes
In confidence, Nantes is more ambitious at the start of the game. If it remains rough, the Nantes take advantage of the errors and spaces left by a feverish Bordeaux defense. Like a preventable loss of bullet from Mexer that could have led to Randal Kolo Muami to goal. However, the Canaries continue their efforts and are rewarded. Following a superb work on the right side, Ludovic Blas drops the ball on the head of Kalifa Coulibaly (1-0, 19th). The Girondins are stunned by this goal and pass very close to the correctional. Fortunately for them, Kolo Muani, lonely, misses the mark (25th).
Draft and imprecise, the men of Jean-Louis Gasset find it difficult to build their offensives. Despite everything, they end up creating danger at the end of the first period. But whatever Hwang who stumbles on Lafont (37th), or Youssouf Sabaly who completely misses his shot from the penalty spot, we always find a cruel lack of efficiency.
Totally harmless Girondins
The defensive largesse are they always present and when they return from the locker room, Loris Benito commits an avoidable foul in the box. Without mercy, Imram Louza executes the sentence (2-0, 51st). As the outlook grew darker and darker, Gasset then decided to change the face of his squad before the hour mark by bringing in four new players (Nicolas De Preville, Amadou Traoré, Paul Baysse, Rémi Oudin). Concretely, that does not really change the face of the match.
The Nantes are above technically, and the speed of Kolo Muani and Moses Simon made the Girondins defenders suffer terribly. The two are also at the origin of the fatal blow to their rivals. We find Moses Simon in the role of passer after a superb overflow, and Kolo Muani at the finish (3-0.70 ‘). Checkmate. The Bordelais are deprived of the ball and do not really manage to get closer to the Nantes goal. With the exception of a non-target recovery in the last quarter of an hour, Alban Lafont saw a quiet end of the game in front of the Nantes net. The score might even have been heavier if Denis Appiah’s curled shot hadn’t found Costil’s bar.
At the bottom of the hole a few weeks ago, Nantes follows a third consecutive victory at the best of times. With Nîmes provisionally relegated to five points behind, Antoine Kombouaré’s men are more than ever in the race to get out of the last three places. A race in which Bordeaux is also in great danger in view of its endless negative spiral.
goals, points, consecutive victories.
