Fiorentina formalized this Thursday, July 1 the end of the adventure with Franck Ribéry, the day after the end of his two-year contract, by simply saying “thank you” on social networks.
The 38-year-old Frenchman had however confirmed his desire to extend with the Tuscan club, where he had received in the summer of 2019 a star reception. His friend, the ex-goalkeeper of Fiorentina Sébastien Frey, had notably broadcast a message on Wednesday from the ex-winger of Marseille and Bayern Munich where he proclaimed his wish to remain at the Viola.
FR7 lived there some great evenings in Serie A but was also regularly held back by physical glitches. And the club wants to turn the page with the arrival of the new coach, Vincenzo Italiano, appointed on Wednesday.
Ribéry, he intends to continue to evolve at the highest level, according to several media. His future could be written in another club in Italy or Germany.
The player has not officially communicated, however posting on Instagram many videos of his training sessions during his vacation.
Fiorentina also parted ways with other players at the end of their contract: Spanish midfielder Borja Valero, who announced the end of his career on Wednesday at the age of 36, and Uruguayan defender Martin Caceres, 34.
