Football – Freiburg im Breisgau – Merk new coach of the Freiburg Bundesliga footballers – Sport

Freiburg (dpa / lsw) – Theresa Merk will be the coach of the Bundesliga soccer team at SC Freiburg for the new season. The 32-year-old is moving to Breisgau from the Swiss first division club Grasshopper Club Zurich. Until last summer she worked as an assistant coach at VfL Wolfsburg. In Freiburg, the Ravensburger follows Daniel Kraus, who had already announced his departure at the end of the season in January.

“Despite her young age, Theresa can look back on a lot of experience with ambitious clubs. She brings knowledge from the German and Swiss leagues and knows the southern German region,” said SC department head Birgit Bauer-Schick. “There has always been a regional connection to Freiburg, the association stands for good and sustainable work,” said Merk. “The image of this down-to-earth club is in line with my football values.” The club did not provide any information on the term of their contract on Friday.
