Freiburg (dpa) – Third division soccer team Hallescher FC is still waiting for the first plus point after the third matchday and thus remains bottom of the table. The people of Saalestadt lost their guest appearance with the second team of SC Freiburg 0:2 (0:0). The goals for the hosts were scored by Niklas Landgraf (71′, own goal) and Davino Knappe (74′).
However, the guests were outnumbered twice for almost an hour. The very petty whistling referee Luca Jürgensen from Hamburg sent Halle’s captain Jonas Nietfeld into the dressing room after just six minutes on his third division debut because of an emergency brake. Because of the same crime, Niklas Kreuzer had to leave the pitch in the 35th minute.
With a majority, the home side gained a clear advantage, but were unable to capitalize on this before the break. Vincent Vermeij (10th, 18th, 41st) narrowly missed the goal. Halle’s goalkeeper Felix Gebhardt parried the shots from Daniels Ontuzans (32′) and Julian Stark (38′). The guests appeared only sporadically in the opposing half, but were very close to a goal. Sören Reddemann’s header (35′) hit the post.
As the game progressed, however, the strength of the badly decimated guests dwindled, and they still had a double chance in the 51st minute. Jannes Vollert forced Noah Atubolu to make a brilliant save. Then Landgraf shot just wide. Then Gebhardt, who saved twice against Robert Wagner (56th, 61st), increasingly came into focus. With the two goals conceded within three minutes, however, the HFC keeper was powerless.
