Freiburg (dpa) – FSV Zwickau can no longer win in the 3rd football league. On Saturday, the West Saxons had to admit defeat at SC Freiburg II with 0:1 (0:1). Vincent Vermeij scored the goal of the day after just four minutes. After the third defeat in a row, Zwickau remains in 14th place in the table and is still fighting to stay in the class.

The Swans got off to a furious start against Freiburg, who have been unbeaten in eight games, and already had two corner kicks in their account after two minutes. But then the guests conceded the 0:1. Coach Joe Enochs’ team tried to equalize quickly, but the attacking game was not variable. So the Zwickauer only became dangerous with long-range shots.

After the break, Freiburg initially had several opportunities to extend their lead. Johannes Brinkies in the FSV goal reacted strongly several times. His opposite number Noah Atubolu also drew more attention and saved his team from equalizing. The post saved Freiburg’s victory just before the end when Marco Schikora’s shot was deflected.
