Football – Freiburg im Breisgau – After a change error: Investigations only in Freiburg protest – Sport

Freiburg (dpa) – After FC Bayern’s change mistake, those responsible at SC Freiburg are still examining an objection. “The status is still that they are looking at it,” said a club spokesman for the German Press Agency one day after the 1: 4 (0: 0) against Munich in the Bundesliga. “We will communicate something if there is something to communicate. We don’t have a schedule for this,” said the SC spokesman.

The protest would have to be lodged by Monday afternoon. If Freiburg refrains from doing so, the German Football Association will not take action either. “The control committee has no legal means of objecting to the game rating,” said a DFB spokesman on Sunday, referring to rule 3, paragraphs 7 and 9, of the rules.

“SC Freiburg can do this at the DFB sports court within 48 hours. He is entitled to this right,” the DFB said. According to dpa information, from the point of view of the association, the incident was not an irregularity, but an error.

The Munich team had been on the field with twelve players for a few seconds shortly before the end of the game when the score was 3-1 before referee Christian Dingert interrupted the match. The wrong shirt number had previously been displayed when Kingsley Coman was substituted. The Frenchman probably didn’t feel addressed and initially didn’t leave the field after a double substitution.

DFB chief referee Lutz Michael Fröhlich spoke to Sport1 on Sunday about a “chain of unfortunate circumstances”. He announced an internal review with Referee Dingert. “There will always be mistakes. These are people, we’ll discuss them with him and his team,” said Fröhlich.
