Football, FCSM 1 – Le Havre 1: “The same referee humiliates us every weekend”, the Sochaliens frustrated with the result

The FCSM received Le Havre on February 11 at Bonal. This top-of-the-table match ended in a draw and a lot of frustration on the Sochaux side. Explanations.

The Sochalien Valentin Henry did not mince his words after the meeting between FCSM and Le Havre, Saturday February 11, in a Bonal stadium filled with more than 15,000 people. The referee of the meeting Abdelatif Kherradji was singled out for certain decisions and in particular a penalty not whistled in favor of the FCSM.

After a quick opener from Le Havre thanks to Arouna Sangante (4th), the Sochaliens gave everything to pick up and take a precious point, in a match of remarkable intensity. They succeeded at the very end of the game thanks to a fine goal from Aldo Kalulu in the 87th minute.

“We had a way to get more, we are frustrated. We were not helped by the refereeing with contrary game facts for us… At one point, when it is the same referee who humiliates us all weekends, in Bordeaux, it was the same thing… It really pisses us off, because we put our guts out on the pitch in front of our home crowd, that result sucks!”, said the FCSM defender at the microphone of Amazon Prime Video Sport.

Franc-Comtois coach Olivier Guégan congratulated his players after a match “high intensity” and of “table top”but also did not hide his disappointment after “a penalty that is not whistled”. “We deserved better. We need a little help from fate, let’s say… (smile) It saddens us a little”he explained in the post-match conference.

Some Sochaux supporters did not fail to criticize the referee’s performance, especially on social networks. This season, Abdelatif Kherradji has already refereed several FCSM matches and in particular in August 2022 against Niort or at the end of December against the Girondins de Bordeaux.

The FCSM is still 2nd in Ligue 2, 8 points from Le Havre and ahead of Bordeaux by one point. The race for the rise in Ligue 1 is in full swing. Saturday, February 18, the FCSM moves to Quevilly. Kick off at 7 p.m.
