Libreville, July 07, 2023 (AGP) – The U20 national team of Gabon won the Uniffac tournament, following its victory against the Central African Republic (2-0), combined with the defeat of Congo against the Democratic Republic of Congo (1-2) in the other match.
A goal signed J.Mebale (1-0, 37th) and a “jewel” from the very promising, S.Bouanga at the very end of the match (2-0, 90th +8), sealed the fate of this trap match against the Central African Republic.
A precious success which allowed Gabon to put a hand on the trophy while awaiting the result of the derby “on both banks of the river”, between Congo (2nd, 4pts +2) and the Democratic Republic of Congo (3rd, 3pts + 0). A duel between neighbors resulted in the victory of the DR Congo (2-1) and therefore favorable to the Panthères U20 of Gabon, which finished first in the tournament with seven (7) points.
Against six (6) for DR Congo (2nd) and four (4) for Congo. The RCA finished last in the group without having recorded the slightest point.
