Munich – The Hungarian Football Association (MLSZ) wants to continue the season in May despite the corona crisis.
The association announced on Monday evening that the cup semi-finals between MTK Budapest and Honved Budapest and MOL Fehervar FC and Mezökövesd-Zsory SE should take place on May 23 as ghost games. A week later, league operations should finally start again without spectators.
Hungary would be a pioneer
This would make Hungary one of the first European countries to have the ball rolling again after the corona break.
The basic requirement for the continuation, however, is still “strict compliance with the hygiene regulations”, the MLSZ announced. Among other things, the players and their contacts are tested twice a week on COVID-19. The top women’s league is also supposed to end its season, but in amateur football the season was completely canceled.
