UEFA revealed that last season’s losses could be estimated at € 470 million, with a total prize pool of € 2.55 billion planned between the teams.

Bild reports that UEFA is very aware of the situation, so last season’s UEFA Champions and Europa League clubs can basically count on lower incomes.

The newspaper reports that the biggest losers in this regard will be the winners of the Champions League “Bayern” in Munich, which will not receive about five million euros from UEFA due to the pandemic caused by Covid-19. Meanwhile, the semi-finalist “Leipzig” is unlikely to receive 2.5 million euros.

It is also expected that lower performance bonuses in UEFA tournaments will be expected for the next four years.

Last season, UEFA played the decisive games of both leagues in one place in a relatively short period of time, but this week the first subgroup duels have already taken place in both tournaments.

Bayern won the UEFA Champions League last season and Sevilla from Spain won the European League.
