A Football Association official said: “I have received news from Tottenham that Son Heung-min has been well operated,” he said in a meeting with reporters prior to national team training held at the NFC (Football Team Training Center). in Paju this morning.
However, he added: “It is still too early to talk about Son Heung-min’s possibility of participating in the World Cup as he has just finished the surgery.”
An official also said: “The national medical team is continuously communicating with Tottenham regarding Son Heung-min’s injury condition.”
Earlier, British newspaper The Telegraph also reported that “Heung-min Son has successfully completed the surgery” and “I am confident he is ready for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar”.
The newspaper said: “His medical team believes the operation went well as planned and the prospect of Son Heung-min’s participation in the World Cup is also positive.”
Son Heung-min was substituted 27 minutes into the first half after hitting his opponent hard in the shoulder in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) group stage match against Marseille (France) 1st.
Heung-min Son, who at the time had swollen left eyelids and was bleeding from his nose, it was found that he had broken bones around his eyes after the examination, so he was operated on.
Upon completion of the operation, Son’s recovery appears to have become a “fight against time”.
Just over a month to go to the start of the World Cup. The first match of the Korean national team against Uruguay in the group stage of the World Cup will take place on the 24th, while the second match against Ghana will take place on the 28th.
