Bersant Celina, 27, started on the bench, but was replaced almost immediately when AIK’s Abdihakin Ali was injured after just seven seconds.
– I was a little disappointed to be poked this match and the last match. It gives me a little extra boost, Celina tells discovery+ after the match. To SVT he adds:
– Of course I want to play, but I don’t want anyone in the team to get injured.
After an uneventful first half, AIK’s Omar Faraj drove the ball up from half the pitch in the 57th minute. Faraj passed to Ismaila Coulibaly who laid the ball up to Celina who had a dream hit just outside the penalty area.
1–0 to AIK and Bersant Celina’s first goal in the black and yellow shirt.
Invited to spin fine
In the 75th minute, Omar Faraj offered the delicacy of the match when he dribbled away Djurgården’s team captain Marcus Danielson with a fine spin.
Just before he was intercepted by Lucas Bergvall, Faraj got the ball to Celina who found Ioannis Pittas.
Pittas then chipped in 2-0 for AIK in an open goal.
– When I’m relaxed and confident, I score goals, says Pittas in the discovery+ broadcast.
Djurgården pressed for a reduction, but never came closer than a crossbar hit from Tokmac Nguyen in the 86th minute.
– I wanted to do everything for the team and get goals and assists. First goal for AIK, so I’m very happy, says Bersant Celina to SVT.
– They use their chances better than us. It is of course very heavy, says Marcus Danielson to SVT.
