For the next Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain will once again change all of its jerseys. And one of them will talk.
Paris Saint-Germain will celebrate its 50th anniversary on August 12, and on this occasion the leaders of the capital’s club have planned to have Neymar, Mbappé and the other players wear jerseys that will be remembered. For Ligue 1, whether at the Parc des Princes or on the road, PSG has chosen to go back to basics with two tunics inspired by the legendary jersey designed by Daniel Hechter. The supporters of the capital’s club are already thrilled with these jerseys, which should be torn off like hotcakes. But it is the choices made for the next Champions League that are likely to provoke debate, because the leaders of Paris SG seem to have made decisions much less linked to the past of PSG.
In the Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain players should wear either a pink jersey, but above all another jersey in partnership with the famous Michael Jordan line. And as FootyHeadlines reveals, this tunic will simply be in the colors of the flag of Qatar. The Parisian confirms that this Qatari sauce jersey will probably be worn on the European scene, this jersey resembling like two drops of water to that worn by the Qatar handball team during the 2015 World Cup. Asked by the Parisian daily newspaper about this choice which risk of causing talk, PSG did not wish to respond, but internally it is claimed that it was Jordan Brand who made this choice, and that this color was used in the 80s on the first Air Jordan shoes. All this would therefore be a pure coincidence and not really a reference to Qatar. Anyway, we have already seen much worse in terms of color choice, whether at Paris Saint-Germain or in other Ligue 1 clubs.
