Foot PSG – Mercato: Raphaël Varane at PSG, dossier revived!

Last summer, Paris Saint-Germain looked into the case of Raphaël Varane but at the time, the Real Madrid defender remained loyal to the Spanish club.

What will happen at the next transfer window? Obviously, the soap opera could be relaunched since in its edition of the day, the newspaper AS informs us that the discussions have not yet started between Raphaël Varane and Real Madrid about an extension of the Frenchman, under contract until June 2022. A boon for PSG, which wishes to strengthen in central defense, a sector in which the future of Thiago Silva is not yet definitively decided. With a player of the caliber of Raphaël Varane, European champion with Real Madrid and world champion with the Blues, it is obvious that Paris SG would make an impression and make the perfect move.

But what does the former Lensois, who refused Paris Saint-Germain’s approaches last summer, think about it? For the moment, little information has filtered concerning his desire (or not) to return to France. One thing is certain, however, according to the Spanish media: Raphaël Varane will listen to the proposals. After nine years at Real Madrid, he seriously plans to leave despite his immense respect for his coach Zinedine Zidane. Financially, Paris Saint-Germain will however have to put the package to snatch Raphaël Varane from Real Madrid. Recruited for only 10 ME from the Racing Club de Lens in 2011 when he was only 19, the native of Lille is now estimated at more than 60 ME by Real Madrid. A significant sum for a defender, that PSG will think twice before putting on the table even if obviously, this track will be unanimous among Parisian supporters.
