If only, he said, the government’s procurement of goods and services consistently bought products made by domestic industries and SMEs, it would spur economic growth.
“Why don’t we do it, it’s stupid of us if we don’t do this. Instead of buying imported goods, we want to continue, no. Ever been upset about the import of hoes
President JoKowi also once expressed his frustration, in the 2019 National Coordination Meeting for the Procurement of Government Goods/Services at the Jakarta Convention Center, Wednesday (6/11/2019), alluded to a number of things, one of which was the import of hoes.
“For example, we import hoe, hoe, cook. Can’t our MSME industry design it, for next year’s hoe I’ll buy tens of thousands. The hoes, hoes needed are still imported. Does our country have a growing industry, do hoes really have to be imported?” Jokowi asked.
BPS recorded January-August 2019. BPS recorded imports of hoes/hoe forks reaching US$ 93,155, with a volume of 210,575 Kg. The import of hoes during January-September 2019 was worth US$ 101.69 thousand with a total weight of 268.2 tons, aka there was no significant increase.
